Why choose a bespoke conversion over a pre-built camper van?

There are several reasons:

  • Customization: Get exactly what you want in terms of layout, features, and aesthetics.
  • Personalized Fit: Optimized for your specific travel style and needs (e.g., solo travel, family trips, off-grid camping, specific hobbies).
  • Higher Quality: Often uses higher-quality materials and craftsmanship compared to mass-produced camper vans.
  • Uniqueness: A truly one-of-a-kind camper van that reflects your personality.
  • Specific Requirements: If you have specific disabilities or needs, a bespoke conversion can cater to that.
What types of vans can be converted into camper vans?

Many vans can be converted, but the most popular choices include:

  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
  • Ford Transit
  • Volkswagen Transporter (e.g., T5, T6)
  • Fiat Ducato (and similar models like Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay)

The best van for you will depend on your size requirements, budget, and desired features.

How long does a bespoke camper van conversion take?

The timeframe varies greatly depending on the complexity of the design, the availability of materials, and the workload of the conversion company. It can range from 2 to 6 months or even longer. It's essential to discuss timelines upfront and understand potential delays.

What's included in a typical bespoke camper van conversion?

This varies, but often includes:

  • Insulation
  • Electrical system (batteries, solar panels, inverter, shore power hookup)
  • Plumbing (water tanks, pump, sink, shower, toilet)
  • Kitchen (cabinets, worktop, sink, stove, refrigerator)
  • Sleeping area (bed, seating that converts to a bed)
  • Storage (cabinets, drawers, overhead lockers)
  • Interior paneling and finishes
  • Windows and ventilation (skylights, roof vents)
